What I Worked on this week! (May 27-June 2)
Hello! I wanted to get back to my roots and start blogging! Whether it would documenting projects, my life outside of crocheting, or whatever I feel like! For this week, I wanted to share what I was able to make in this past week.
The start of my week ended with planning and starting two new projects. I am working on using my yarn stash instead of buying new yarn, but sadly in the middle of the big square, I ran out one of the colors! Replenishing a new color for a project doesn’t count right? (Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself). One of them involved a pattern that I am writing for my upcoming Etsy shop so keep a look out for that hopefully coming in the next couple of weeks!
On Tuesday I continued to work on squares for the pattern that I am writing but also dabbed into plastic canvas stitching! I had played around with plastic canvas stitching once and I forgot how much I enjoyed it! This is also really nice for when my wrists need a break from crocheting but I still want to be productive! Let me know if you guys want a tutorial in the future!
On Wednesday I took a break from my pattern making and recorded a short form video where I made granny squares based off of random color combos from the “The Dictionary of Color Combinations Vol 1”. I also played around with making borders for my plastic canvas squares.
Thursday my wrists were really feeling the fatigue so I stepped away from my crochet hook and did a mini photoshoot! I’ve had this idea for a photoshoot for a while and I am very happy that it turned out the way that I had imagined it!
Now that I had the photoshoot done, Friday was dedicated to making the website you are seeing here! It still has a few things needed done (aka my portfolio) but I am so happy with how it turned out!
Have you ever had a day where you can’t just concentrate on one project so you work on a bunch of projects in a day, well that was my day on Saturday. I finished a bigger plastic canvas piece, started working on some pouches for my shop and worked on a project that I had started last week.
To end the week, I finished another plastic canvas square and continued working on the project I picked back up from last week.
So that was my week! I know there wasn’t any projects I finished but I still feel like it was a productive week! Let me know what kind of blog posts you would like to see and I will see you in the next one!
